In honor of Black History Month, I met with members of Thompson's Black community to discuss shared priorities, including immigration challenges and the economic opportunities that come from stronger collaboration between Black and Indigenous communities.
Economic development in the North is strongest when communities support each other and lift each other up. When Black-owned businesses thrive, the whole economy grows. When Black and Indigenous communities work together, we build something more powerful than either could alone.
