Churchill–Keewatinook Aski is one of the largest federal ridings in Canada spanning three-quarters of Manitoba, 73 communities, and 42 First Nations. I cannot be everywhere at once. But this office will always find a way to show up.
In April, my Office and Communications Manager, Babatunde Adewole, travelled to Norway House Cree Nation on my behalf , attending the Manitoba Trappers Association Annual General Meeting and meeting directly with Acting Chief Alfred Laugher and the Council of Norway House Cree Nation.

The purpose of that meeting was simple: to offer my well wishes to the Council in preparation of their upcoming elections, to listen, and to hear directly from leadership about the priorities and needs of their community.
Norway House Cree Nation is one of Manitoba's largest and most important northern communities — a hub that serves thousands of residents and dozens of surrounding communities across the region. The Council came to that meeting organised, prepared, and clear about what their community needs. That is the kind of leadership that deserves a federal partner who shows up and follows through.
What we heard matters. The community's priorities infrastructure, economic opportunity, health services, and long-term planning — have been documented, and our office is actively working to connect Norway House with the federal programmes and funding opportunities that can help advance them.
To Acting Chief Alfred Laugher and Council thank you for your time, your openness, and your leadership. The conversations we had in April are already informing the work this office is doing on your behalf. I look forward to continuing that partnership in the months ahead, and to visiting Norway House in person.
Kinosao Sipi Minisowin. This is Cree land — and it is a privilege to serve it.
