Treaty Days at Pine Creek — Minegoziibe Anishinabe
Pine Creek First Nation — Minegoziibe Anishinabe — has always been a strong, self-sufficient community. And it shows every time there is a challenge.
This summer I had the honour of attending Treaty Days at Pine Creek, where the strength and resilience of this community were on full display. Chief Derek Nepinak continues to provide steady, proactive leadership — supported by dedicated community members like Maryann Simpson and Junior Neapew, who keep things moving and make sure the people are cared for.

Treaty Days is more than a celebration. It is a reaffirmation — of rights, of relationships, of the commitments that were made on this land and that this office is committed to honouring. The leadership and community spirit at Pine Creek is a reminder of what is possible when a Nation is well-served by its own people.
Thank you to Chief Nepinak and to the entire Minegoziibe Anishinabe community for welcoming this office.
