HOW TO SEQUENCE YOUR APPLICATIONS

Federal infrastructure funding works best when approached in stages. Communities that arrive with feasibility work already completed are significantly more competitive. Here is the recommended sequencing:

Step Phase Best Programmes Why It Matters

1 Planning & Feasibility Green Municipal Fund, CCBF capacity stream, ISC FNIF planning component Get the engineering, environmental, and community data needed to build a strong capital application

2 Capital Construction BCSF Direct Delivery or PT Stream, FNIF, ISC Water & Wastewater, CMHC Lead with completed feasibility work applications with engineering studies and cost estimates are significantly stronger

3 Operational Support CCBF ongoing, ISC O&M funding, Green Municipal Fund Secure operational and maintenance funding before or alongside capital funders want to know the asset will be sustained

Important: Our office cannot submit applications on your behalf, but we can help you identify the right programme, review eligibility, and connect you with federal programme officers. Reach out early before deadlines.
